Cyria Araud

Head of R&D Projects and Innovation consulting

My responsibilities

  • Responding to companies’ innovation needs in a tailored manner to strengthen their competitiveness.
  • Connecting the right people at the right time to create value.
  • Transforming crazy projects into concrete successes that really matter to companies.
  • Motivating, energising and inspiring teams to drive innovation.
  • Juggle innovation, coordination and good humour with teams of experts to bring about distinctive solutions

My passions in life

  • Kayaking on the Vilaine River (ideal for reflecting as you float along)
  • Carpentry, wood and wood chips galore
  • Gardening Educational vegetable garden for motivated children aged 7 and 9
  • Mountain hiking to gain some height (literally)
  • Convivial moments, endless aperitifs and light-hearted debates
  • Leading workshops on climate change, biodiversity and the 2-tonne initiative to raise awareness and encourage action.

If I were…

  • A dish: homemade tabbouleh with lots of fresh mint and tangy lemon — light, fresh, but with a kick for the taste buds.
  • A kitchen utensil: a blender for mixing ideas, people and energy.
  • A piece of sports equipment: a sail that catches the wind but stays firmly attached to the mast.
  • An innovator: a low-tech solution that changes everything with simplicity.
  • A country: a mix between Switzerland (for the calm), Brittany (for the roots), Belgium (for the chips and self-deprecation), and London (for the cosy pubs and the art of well-balanced quirkiness).
  • A writer: Bertrand Piccard – for his spirit of exploration, his commitment to sustainable innovation and his contagious and pragmatic optimism in the face of the challenges of sustainable transition.
  • A cocktail: a mojito revisited with chouchen: fresh, local, slightly sweet
  • A song: ‘Il en faut peu pour être heureux’ (Baloo) sung at the top of my lungs with the children in the morning on the way to school.
  • An item I would take to a desert island: a Breton Swiss Army knife (with a bottle opener AND a mini cheese grater).

My motto

‘”Alone we go faster, together we go further.”
— African proverb

My Proustian madeleine

The smell of my grandmother’s crêpes Suzette filling the house, that aroma of melted butter and caramelised orange, and the little flames dancing in the pan.
