Valorial represented the Erasmus+ Agrifood4Future project at the Synergy Days, where discussions focused on two key themes: “Cultivating Change” (digitalisation led by young people and women entrepreneurs) and “Professionalisation & Digitalisation” (skills and data governance).
Speakers such as Sjoukje Heimovaara (Wageningen University & Research), Jesper Stendal Sørensen (AgData Partnership), Henry van Burgsteden (FAO, UN), as well as representatives from the Dutch government and the European Commission, emphasised that professionalisation and trust in data governance are essential for accelerating the digital transition. The European Agrifood4Future project addresses precisely these needs by training young people and women entrepreneurs in digital technologies and innovation, using an inclusive and professional approach. Marieke de Ruyter de Wildt (Open Food Chain) pointed out that women entrepreneurs accounted for just 1% of venture capital investments in 2021, highlighting the importance of supporting their integration.
The exhibition area provided an opportunity to showcase the innovative tools and methods developed within Agrifood4Future, such as the modules on precision farming and the circular economy, and to discuss potential joint projects with partners. These discussions confirm the need to strengthen synergies between training, innovation and inclusion, in line with European priorities, and pave the way for partnerships with French organisations such as IDELE, AC3A, CRITT, NEXT, Image & Réseaux and the University of Angers.
When it comes to European mobility, Agrifood4Future is really gaining momentum! The mobility platform continues to expand with new host organisations and internship opportunities, and over 80 students have already applied. Companies in the agri-food sector can still post their vacancies and join the European network to host interns from Belgium, Italy, Spain, Greece or Portugal.
