The year 2026 continues to bring new opportunities for stakeholders in the agri-food and bioeconomy sectors. This funding aims to accelerate innovation, strengthen Europe’s resilience and support the transition to sustainable and circular systems.

🔬 CBE JU 2026 calls: bioeconomy, circularity and sovereignty

As part of the European Circular Bio-based Europe (CBE JU) partnership, several key calls are now open, such as:

  • HORIZON-JU-CBE-2026-IA-01 – Biotech routes for the valorisation of residual biomass
👉 Developing biotechnological pathways to valorise residual biomass and reduce resource losses.
  • HORIZON-JU-CBE-2026-IAFlag-04 – Diversification of nutritional food and feed ingredient sources for increased EU resilience and strategic autonomy
Diversifying sources of food and nutritional ingredients to strengthen European sovereignty.
  • HORIZON-JU-CBE-2026-CSA-01 – Supporting industry in the switch to sustainable and circular bio-based products and processes
👉 Supporting industries in their transition to sustainable and circular bio-based products and processes.

These calls are aimed in particular at companies, technical centres, academic institutions and clusters wishing to set up high-impact collaborative projects.

💡 EIC 2026 calls: supporting disruptive innovations

In addition, the European Innovation Council (EIC) schemes offer particularly attractive funding for projects with high innovation potential, including:

  • EIC Pathfinder (early-stage research)
  • EIC Transition (technology maturation)
  • EIC Accelerator (scale-up and market launch)
