Pursuant to the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), in force since the 25th May 2018.

  1. 1. Introduction

Valorial is an agri-food competitiveness cluster which stimulates its ecosystem of members (industry, higher education/research, institutes) by organising events and develops cooperation between members, through its support services,  particularly targeted towards collaborative innovation projects.

To do so it has set up an information system to:

> Record the competences and fields of action of its members through information provided at the time of joining or membership renewal

> Allow people to sign up to events organised or jointly organised by Valorial

> Track collaborative projects supported by Valorial, from emergence through to implementation and development, by measuring their short and medium term gains (between 5 and 10 years post-project)

> Lead specific actions at the request of public funding bodies (reporting)

> Put forward project management tools for partners.

  1. 2. Scope

This policy outlines Valorial’s approach in terms of personal data on the website https://www.pole-valorial.fr or any other website/extranet operated by Valorial, in particular in relation to applications of the information system, communication and associated services.

  1. 3. Personal data privacy policy

This policy aims to inform you of the conditions under which Valorial collects personal data, the reasons for which this data is collected, how this data is used and your rights. It applies to all information provided by you or collected by Valorial when you browse the Valorial websites and extranet.

When you browse the Valorial websites and extranet, Valorial may collect personal data about you. The data collected is exclusively used by Valorial to ensure the services proposed are functioning correctly. Under no circumstances shall it be disclosed or transferred to any third party.

This data comprises in particular:

– personally identifiable data such as your marital status, telephone numbers, address, email address to send you the newsletter any photographs you may submit if you take part in our events,

– electronic identification data available on or from your computer (such as cookies and IP address). Your electronic identification data can be used to identify your connection terminal or the pages of the website viewed during your visit.

Via the cluster’s websites and extranet, you may be asked to provide Valorial with personal data, for instance when creating an account in the Member area, registering for an event or subscribing to the newsletter.

  1. 5. Rights of access, rectification, erasure and opposition to processing

You have the right to access, rectify or delete your personal information, as well as the right to refuse processing of this data. You can exercise these rights at any time by sending an email to the following address: valorial@pole-valorial.fr

However, owing to security and privacy requirements on the processing of personal data, your request will be processed subject to your providing proof of identity, in particular by submitting a scanned copy of a valid identity document (in the case of an online request) or a signed photocopy of a valid identity document (in the case of a written request submitted by post).

Valorial is committed to responding to your access, rectification or opposition requests or any other additional request for information within a reasonable period of time and in any case not exceeding one month from receipt of your request.

You also have the right to file a claim with a control authority, in particular in the Member State of your place of usual residence, workplace or place where the infringement occurred, if you consider that the processing of your personal data constitutes an infringement of applicable regulations.

  1. 6. Management of your personal data by Valorial
  • 6.1. Purpose of data collection

Through its websites and extranet, Valorial processes personal data required for the following purposes:

– Member management (organisations and contacts within them)

– Collaborative project tracking from emergence to benefits 5-10 years post-project

– Management of subscriptions (subscribing and unsubscribing) to the newsletter and to thematic intelligence newsletters

– Registration for events

– Participation in the life of the association

– Analysis of anonymous website visit statistics

– Satisfaction surveys and polls

  • 6.2. Data storage

The data is stored for a period of time which must not exceed the time required for the purpose for which it was collected:

For the management of your newsletter subscription: Valorial stores the data for 3 years following the last contact. If you unsubscribe, Valorial will disable newsletter mailings.

  • 6.3. Data recipients

Your personal data is intended for Valorial’s departments concerned by your requests. Valorial will not disclose your personal data except:

– If the cluster requires to share this information with third parties to provide the service you are requesting, or

– If the cluster is instructed by a legal authority or any other administrative authority to provide the information, or

– If you have given prior permission to share this information.

  • 6.4. Data security and hosting

Valorial has sought to take the necessary precautions to safeguard the privacy and security of the personal data processed and to prevent it from being deformed, damaged, destroyed or accessed by unauthorised third parties. Technical and organisational security measures have been implemented to this end.

However Valorial cannot control all the risks related to the internet and draws internet users’ attention to the existence of potential risks inherent to its use and operation.

In terms of the technical storage of your personal data, your data will be stored with the following service providers:

– Salesforce, in Ireland

– Microsoft Office, in the United Kingdom

– Mailchimp, in the United States

The protection and security of its information systems are of the utmost importance to Valorial.

Tools have been set up with its hosting partner to alert Valorial as to any potential security gaps. These tools may incidentally lead to personal data being accessed by security teams. This data will be collected and processed exclusively for the management of security gaps and in compliance with applicable regulations relating to personal data protection.

  1. 7. Policy amendments

Valorial may be liable to amend its privacy policy and shall ensure that you are informed either by a special notice on its websites, or via a personalised warning, in particular for newsletter subscribers.

  1. 8. Policy on personal data relating to minors

This website is not targeted towards minors. Minors are not however prohibited from accessing the website as it does not include content unsuitable for under 18s. If information is collected about a minor by the websites, the minor’s legal representative may contact valorial@pole-valorial.fr to rectify, amend or delete this information.

  1. 9. Consent

This policy applies whenever you use our services (membership, registration for an event, submission of a project application, etc.). By using these services, you thereby accept the conditions of this privacy policy. Every time you provide information through our services, you are thereby accepting that said information be collected, used and communicated in accordance with the terms of the privacy policy.
